I’m not sure if anyone has noticed, but I love to torment myself with Christmas knitting. My favorite method is to occasionally check this link. Did you click it? If you’re a knitter (or any kind of crafty individual who likes to make their gifts), it’s a Pandora’s box sort of website. I’ve never looked very far into its origins, but I have wondered about the type of person who would create such a thing. Sadistic? Masochistic? Really, really jolly?
Regardless of who came up with the Christmas Countdown clock, it always makes me just a little worried. I can count on one hand the number of projects that have taken me less than two weeks to finish (regardless of either stitch count or degree of difficulty), and since I generally have no fewer than 10 gifts that I plan to make for the holidays I need at least 140 days, not counting shipping time, to make my presents.
So, after looking at that site (just like you did – admit it), I’m slightly concerned. I’ve nearly finished my first one, but I have another very long scarf, three pair of socks, three little sweaters, a medium sweater, a big person sweater, and a pair of mittens to go, and aside from the long scarf and two of the three little sweaters, I have no idea what I’m going to do. I was thinking about revisiting the Bird in Hand mittens, this time in blue and brown. I loved making those mittens.
Basically I’m begging for suggestions. Have you seen any to-die-for sock patterns? Super cute little boy sweaters? Ravelry is great, but every time I go searching for a perfect project I end up falling down the rabbit hole and browsing for hours, always forgetting to add the ones that might work to my queue.
Help me. Please?
